The Developer

Streusel Cake Games is a solo indie studio. One person making games the old-fashioned way — pixel by pixel, room by room.


The Tools

Every game is built on PICO-8, a fantasy console with strict creative constraints:

  • 128×128 pixel display
  • 16-color palette
  • Built-in sprite, map, sound, and music editors
  • Lua programming language
  • 8192 token code limit

Working within these limits forces creative solutions and keeps scope manageable for a solo developer.


The Philosophy

Tight controls. Carefully designed rooms. Stories told through environment and pacing, not cutscenes. Every mechanic earns its place.

Games should feel good to play before they look good in a screenshot. Precision and responsiveness come first.
